Flight ban from India to UAE to continue further until 7th August

29 July 2021

Emirates, the national airline, has once again postponed the commencement of passenger flights from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

On July 28th, the Dubai airline announced that flights from these four countries would remain suspended until 7th August 2021.

“In line with UAE government directives, Emirates will be suspending the carriage of passengers from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to Dubai until 7 August 2021,” the airline said.

Further, passengers who have connected through Pakistan, India, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka in the past 14 days, cannot travel from any other point to the UAE, the statement said.

The airline further said that UAE nationals, the diplomatic missions, and holders of UAE golden visas, who adhere to the updated Covid19 protocols are exempted and may be allowed to travel.

Emirates also emphasized that passengers whose flights have been cancelled or have been affected due to route suspensions owing to Covid-19 restrictions, they can retain their tickets, and once flights resume, they can contact the Emirates to change the booking.

The flight ban from the above-said four nations has been continuing for a while now. While the flights from India to the UAE were suspended originally from 24th April due to surge in Covid-19 cases in the country, the flights from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were suspended on 13th May.
