Dubai Global Village will remain open till 2am on New Year’s Eve, the organizers have announced. The venue is likely to witness some of the most exciting firework displays ever, to ring in the New Year.
The fireworks will begin their countdown to the New Year at the big wheel of the Fantasy Island. Apart from midnight fireworks, the park will also host musical fireworks display at the Dancing Fountain.
Among some of the ‘must-watch’ attractions at Global Village this New Year is the performance by Lebanese singer, Nancy Ajram on 30th December, setting the tone for the New Year weekend, performing some of her most popular numbers. This will be followed by stunt shows, a special edition version of the City Jam show, Movies Live and Park Life, Globo shows for kids and several other shows.
On 31st December, the evening will commence with the Circus Show on the main cultural shows, recreating a real-life circus environment on stage. The show runs a narrative which includes ring master, clowns, acrobats, men on stilts, jugglers and dancers dressed in multiple fun costumes.
At 6pm, the Movies Live show takes visitors through a journey of cinema, across various genres including action, sci-fi and Bollywood. The show begins with introduction of the ‘Director’, who takes the audience through a cinematic experience scene, including stunning visual effects with a 3D revolving stage.
At 7.45pm on 31st December, a specially created stunt arena at Global Village will play a high octane show which will see audience sitting on the edge of their seats, with fast-paced stunts and flame effects. The stage will have the capacity to seat 1000 people.
Finally, the party ambience of the New Year eve begins with DJ NAwaf taking over the main cultural stage at 10.30pm, playing several hit numbers to keep the audience thrilled until they bring in the New Year.
One of the highlights of this segment will include the performance by the City Jam dancers, who will perform a specially created version of their highly popular show, along with DJ Nawaf’s music, truly capturing the party atmosphere.
