New visa issuing system introduced in Dubai

18 April 2016

The UAE Vision System is a new system, recently introduced, wherein residents are no-longer required to visit the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) headquarters, or any of its external branches to renew or apply for visa. Instead, all transactions can be carried out through the approved typing centres. All the approved typing centres will have the Amer logo that qualifies them to handle new UAE Vision System for visa transactions.

However, residents should look out for the Amer logo when visiting typing centres for visa-related transactions. The logo is a badge of approval from GDRFA, to indicate that the typing centre is qualified to carry out the visa-related transactions, and it will be clearly visible on the counters and on staff uniform.

The transactions permitted include applying for visa, applying for new residency, renewing residency and visa cancellation, apart from other related services.

The GDRFA said that there have been no changes to the required materials or charges pertaining to visa transactions.

According to GDRFA, within a couple of months all 600 typing centres in Dubai would be re-designed to include the Amer logo.  While some centres have been already carrying out the services for several weeks on trial basis, the others are waiting to integrate their systems.

The applicants need to provide accurate contact information to the typing centres. Those seeking visit-visa related transactions will get it on their email, and those applying for residency visa service will get it through Zajel Courier Service.

Zajel counters will be operational at all approved typing centres. For residency visas, the applicant will have to handover the passport to the counter, and once the application process is complete, the Zajel Courier Service will then deliver the customer’s passport when the visa has been issued and stamped.

Visa Application Procedure

For renewal and cancellation of residence visas, the documents can be uploaded at the typing centres. The users will be notified through SMS once their applications are approved.

The courier service will also pick-up passport from any given destination, and deliver it to the GDRFA to issue the visa, and stamp the passport before delivering it back to the applicant.
