Emirates launches new daily non-stop service in Dubai - Newark route

24 January 2017

Emirates has announced that it will launch a new daily service starting 12th March, from Dubai to Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey, USA through the Greek Capital, Athens.

The new route complements the existing four daily flights by Emirate between Dubai and New York’s JFK airport. It offers global travellers another convenient access point to the popular New York Metropolitan area.

The new Dubai-Athens-Newark flight by Emirates will also offer a year-round non-stop daily service between United States and Greece, a service which has not been in existence since 2012.

The airline will operate Boeing 777-300ER on the route, with 8 seats in First, 42 seats in Business and 304 seats in Economy class and 19 tonnes of belly-hold cargo capacity.

The President of Emirates Airline, Sir Tim Clark, said that the availability of high quality, daily international air services is essential for business and cultural ties, and the tourism is likely to gain a major boost through availability of daily flights year-round.

The Greek Minister of Tourism, Elena Kountoura, thanked Emirates for considering the request to launch a new itinerary linking Dubai with New York via Athens all year round, as it substantially supports tourism by improving the flow of visitors to Greece from the US and UAE on annual basis.

Apart from serving the large Greek-American population in the New York metropolitan area, the availability of one-stop same-plane service to Dubai will offer a convenient alternative to travellers headed towards the Middle East, Africa and West Asia.
