Significance of Dubai Expo 2020

Dubai Expo 2020 is the first World Expo to be hosted in the Middle East, Africa and South Asian (MEASA) region, and is considered to be one of the most important one in the exposition history. Expected to attract 25million visitors, out of which, 70 percent of the visitors are likely to come from outside the UAE, the expo is likely to see the largest proportion of international visitors in the 168-year history of World Expos.

Being the largest event to be ever- staged in the Arab world, the expo is all set to welcome 190 participating nations, and millions of visitors from across the globe, with the youth being the heart of this World Expo, The Expo 2020 aims to create a meaningful legacy that would benefit the future generations locally and globally, including everything from innovation to architecture, friendships and business opportunities.

Expo 2020 - Participation details

Over 200 participants, including nations, multinational organizations, businesses and educational institutions are likely to participate in the expo. So far, 190 nations have confirmed their participation at the expo.

There are several ways to participate in the expo, for instance, the Expo 2020 ‘Volunteers Programme’ welcomes over 30,000 volunteers, the ‘Expo Live Programme’ supports and funds those with creative solutions to global challenges, the ‘World Majlis’ sessions brings together aspiring leaders from across the planet, and there are plenty of business opportunities at the ‘Online Marketplace’.

As per the UAE’s National Policy for Empowering people with Special Needs, people with special needs are referred to as ‘people with determination’, to recognize their achievements in various fields. At present, Expo 2020 is considering a range of measurements to ensure about delivering an expo that is accessible to all. Therefore, there will be a wide range of services, including wheelchair rentals and electric convenience vehicles.

When will the expo be held?

Dubai Expo 2020 World’s Fair will be postponed to 1st October 2021 over the new coronavirus pandemic, revealed a Paris-based body that is behind the events. On the whole, the expo will remain open seven days a week from 10am to 1pm on weekdays and from 10am to 2pm on weekends and special days.

Events at the Expo

Start of ticket sale: End of 2019

Ticket sale venue: The tickets can be purchased through the Dubai Expo 2020 website, or through a network of Authorised Ticket Resellers and Partners worldwide, or at the Expo 2020 gates during the event.

Cost of ticket: Depends upon the type of ticket.

One Day ticket – Dh.120

Three day ticket – Dh.260

Note: Students of any age and youth aged 6 to 17 are allowed 50 percent discount, while people of determination are given free access and their caretakers are allowed 50percent discount. Kids below five years of age and adults over 65 years of age are allowed free access.

Types of tickets

1-day ticket: You will be eligible for a full day of non-stop excitement from 10am to 1am on weekdays and upto 2am on weekends, at Dubai Expo 2020.
3-day ticket: With this 3-day ticket you can enjoy more fun at Expo 2020 Dubai, as each day you can choose the new experiences that you would like to enjoy and immerse yourself in the Expo themes.
