Global Village has become a great Dubai getaway for many in the region. Known as the largest open-air cultural and entertainment venue in the Middle East, Global Village hosts performing artists from all over the world. Both expats and locals and families gather to enjoy world-class live performances of music, dance and art, food, games and shopping.
In addition to being an international platform for creative global artists, this year Global Village Dubai also offers an approachable exhibition with several forms of modern art for public, offering a range of contemporary art works including paintings, installation art, sculptures, performances, video art, photography, new media, digital art and street art from all over the world. Although, Global Village Dubai is associated with Dubai Shopping Festival, it runs longer than the DSF.
This year, 28 pavilions representing 40 or more nations including Egypt, Saudi, Qatar, Turkey and Thailand, and the World Events Tent, with capacity to accommodate 700 or more people, will be open with a variety of performances from Bollywood to hip-hop. Spain and Tunisia will be participating in Global Village Dubai for the first time this year.
One of the major attractions in Global Village Dubai is the dancing fountain with advanced laser technology, both of which are new to the region. Nearly six such shows will be presented at the lake in the Global Village. Round-the-clock online streaming of all shows will also be available this year.
Ever-since its launch in 1997, Global Village has been a major entertainment and shopping destination throughout the Middle East, celebrating the rich and diverse cultures of countries and people from around the globe.
