The new concept of Flying Taxis could be a reality in Dubai as early as 2026, as aligned with the Smart Dubai vision.
Electric Aircraft Company ‘Eve Holding’ and the Abu Dhabi-based ‘Falcon Aviation Services’ is ready to introduce the first flying taxi ‘electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL)’ tourist flights from the Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai in the year 2026.
Eve Holding, a subsidiary owned by Embraer, the Brazilian plane maker, together with Falcon Aviation Services signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for upto 35 eVTOL aircraft.
The Chief Operating Officer of Falcon, Ramandeep Oberoi said “The launch of this concept fully aligns with the Smart Dubai Vision and will contribute to positioning Dubai as a global leader in sustainable urban air mobility transportation.”
Eve Holding will work together with Falcon alongside other local stakeholders and authorities to support the development of UAE’s urban air mobility ecosystem.
According to Andre Stein, the co-CEO of Eve, the deal will help position Dubai as a pioneer in the UAM market.
Air Taxis, will no-doubt be the next big thing in Dubai. The London-based start-up Bellwether Industries announced that it had completed testing its fully-electric volar (eVTOL) prototype in Dubai. It also released the footage of hypercar model taking to the skies.
