This is largely due to a strong performance by Dubai in the third quarter, and the prospect of a stronger surge in the last quarter of this year, Dubai Airports said.

While the average monthly traffic crossed 6 million through the third quarter of 2022, the airport recorded 18.5million passengers, finally touching the pre-pandemic levels ever since 2020.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer, Flydubai, Ghaith Al-Ghaith said the airline will operate 30 flights a day to Doha during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The daily operations will continue until 18th December.

This move forms part of Flydubai’s efforts to help more football fans to travel to Qatar easily, so as to ensure they do not miss the much awaited tournament.

Al-Ghaith further said “All our flights departing to Doha International Airport in the morning and afternoon were almost full, and this trend is likely to continue in the coming days and weeks. It is a happy day for all those who have world tirelessly over the past few months to successfully launch these flights.”

Al Ghaith also thanked Qatar Airways for their partnership with Flydubai to make these flights a reality, and for ensuring smooth flow of traffic.
