Travellers relieved over revised travel rules to India

22 November 2022

India has announced scrapping of Covid19 self-declaration forms through its Air Suvidha portal. This comes as a relief to frequent travellers.

Earlier, it was mandatory for international passengers arriving in India to fill in the declaration form. But with the revised guidelines for international arrivals issued by India’s Health and Family Welfare, the registration is no longer necessary.

The present guidelines are being revised in light of sustained declining Covid19 trajectory and significant advances being made in Covid19 vaccination coverage both globally and in India.”

The document states that passengers planning a travel should be fully vaccinated in line with approved primary schedule of vaccination against Covid19 in the country.

According to travellers, lining up in a long queue prior to immigration at the airports led to delays. The queues to submit the Air Suvidha form resulted in almost one to two hours of delay. Now, with the submission being scrapped, time will be saved, and exit from the airport would be saved.
