Beginning 18th July, all attestation services offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE, and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), will go completely online. This move is applicable to all customers in the UAE, the ministry confirmed.
The MoFAIC is involved in services such as attesting personal documents like marriage, education and birth certificates, and attestation of official documents such as licenses, and invoices that authenticate them.
In majority of the cases, the attestation process is mandatory to validate important documents necessary for employment, studies, visa issuance etc.
People of determination and senior Emiratis and nationals can attest their documents by calling 80044444, the ministry said.
MoFAIC has emphasized in its guide that people should ensure that all the documents that they wish to get attested / stamped, are already attested by relevant authorities prior to applying for this service.
The MoFAIC has posted a guide explaining the necessary steps to be taken to obtain the service for both individuals and businesses. These are the steps to be followed:
For individuals:
- Login to MoFAIC website with UAE Pass
- Choose ‘Services for Individuals’ option
- Select ‘Attestation of Official Documents, Certificates’
- Choose ‘MoFAIC Customer Happiness Centres’
- Select the courier service
- Select the type of document you wish to get attested. You can get more than one document attested within the same application.
- Enter the place of issuance of the document.
- Fill in the necessary information, and answer the questions.
- Pay the fee
- Courier service will pick up the documents from your chosen destination, and drop them back.
For businesses:
- New users should register first.
- Choose ‘Business Services’
- Select ‘Customer Happiness Centre’
- Select the courier service (select ‘prepaid’ if you have already subscribed to a courier package, else choose another option).
- Choose the type of document to be attested.
- Choose the place of issuance of the document and click ‘Add’. (More than one document can be attested within the same application).
- Enter the necessary information, and answer the questions.
- Pay the necessary fee.
- Courier service will pick the document from your chosen location, and drop them back.
