The private schools in the UAE have announced that they are ready to reopen in September, even as they await a directive from the authorities.

Various operational systems are being planned to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing a roundtable done virtually, a group of private school operators said that they hope that the regulators would support their plan to ensure totality of education and overcome the financial challenges faced by the educational sector.

However, no government order has been issued to them regarding reopening of schools in September.

The meeting was organized by key members of Education Business Group which represents over 100 private school operators in Dubai.

The operators, when speaking at the meet, urged the government to offer financial support to them to address the challenges faced by private schools, and to sustain the high standards of education.

The schools are considering various shift systems and blended learning plans, but, the ultimate decision to send the children back to school remains with parents and authorities.

They said strict measures would be taken to protect the health and safety and mental and physical wellbeing of students and the school community.

The speakers also said that schools should ensure that over 50,000 jobs in private education sector remains unaffected.
