Dubai Ruler extends Tourist Visas by another month

29 December 2020

The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, announced that the emirate would extend tourist visas to all visitors by another month without any government fees, as some countries temporarily closed their airports, restricting visitor entry and exit.

This decision aims to make it easier for visitors from across the world who have entered Dubai to spend their year-end holidays with families.

The statement further said that all government agencies have been instructed to facilitate procedures during the coming period for tourists and visitors to take into consideration the situations and circumstances that may occur in their home countries, and cooperate with concerned authorities to ensure the comfort and safety of all visitors to the UAE.

This noble gesture by HH Sheikh Mohammed has been appreciated as the best New Year gift by tourists, majority of whom had visited the UAE to either meet their loved ones or just enjoy the tourist hotspots here, and were unable to get back to their home countries due to the new variant of coronavirus.

The Dubai Health Authority said that it has established three field hospitals with 49 doctors and nurses, apart from 10 administrative and support staff to offer medical care during the new year celebrations in the emirate.
