Dubai’s major construction event 'The Big 5' postponed

The Dubai-based major construction event ‘The Big 5’ has been postponed to September 2021.

The new dates announced is from 12th to 15th September 2021, and this is also applicable to specialized events that are hosted alongside The Big 5, such as The Big 5 Heavy, Middle East Concrete, HVAC R Expo, The Big 5 Solar, Middle East Stone, and the Urban Design & Landscape Expo.

The event was originally due to be held from 23rd to 26th November 2020 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The decision to postpone this event comes after consultation with key stakeholders in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new dates have been announced after taking into consideration several factors including the health, safety and convenience of all participants, their access to travel, and other global events calendar in the industry.

The Senior Vice President at dmg events, Ben Greenish said “It was not an easy decision to take, but we believe it is the best for the construction players we proudly connect and have served since 1979. Over the past weeks, we made it our priority to listen to our exhibitors, visitors, and other key stakeholders.

“We understand how crucial a successful trade event is for their businesses, and how challenging planning ahead can be in such uncertain times. We have therefore decided to postpone this year’s event to offer an edition of the scale and nature expected of The Big 5 in 2021, which will boost the construction sector’s recovery efforts in the post-Covid-19 era.”

By announcing the fresh dates early, it will help industry players plan their schedule early on, and participate the event that will benefit the whole construction value chain.

The Big 5 will continue to connect and strengthen construction players across the world and will launch a new Digital Festival of Construction in November this year, to help the industry.

The Big 5 event welcomes more than 67,000 buyers, suppliers and experts from across the construction industry and serves as a comprehensive programme comprising education workshops, networking features, business and sales opportunities, all in a single location.
