Dubai has introduced a mobile testing service which enables free coronavirus screening at home for the elderly and most vulnerable. This initiative follows the easing of strict movement restrictions in Dubai.
The new “Mobile Laboratory Units” are actually converted ambulances, equipped with auto-sterilization equipment, safe storage cabins for samples, thermal scanners etc.
This initiative aims to reduce pressure on hospitals amidst the global pandemic crisis, and helps in protecting people who are at high risk.
Dubai and the rest of the UAE decided on reopening malls, restaurants and cafes and to ease out stringent restrictions imposed last month in order to prevent spread of the illness.
The lockdown relaxations came in time for the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
However, Dubai has issued guidelines for operation of commercial units, and have made wearing of face masks mandatory and violators to be fined Dh.1000.
