Temperature checks no longer mandatory at Dubai stores

31 December 2020

Thermal scanners and manual temperature checks are not required anymore according to the latest guidelines by the Dubai Economy.

The guidelines further said that valet parking protocols have been updated, and there is not need to cover the steering wheel and seats with plastic.

The authority earlier tweeted that all businesses that it inspected were found to comply with Covid safety measures.

The business community in Dubai still continues with the highest levels of compliance with the guidelines with zero fines, zero closures and zero warnings,” it tweeted, further saying “449 businesses were fully compliant with the precautionary measures that are set to limit the spread of Covid-19.”

The latest safety protocols comes one day after HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai announced extension of tourist visas for an additional month, without government fees.

This move was announced in light of temporary airport closures and entry restrictions across the world.

The official spokesperson for the UAE Government recently announced that the UAE has been rated as the 10th best country in the world in handling the Covid-19 virus. Overall, the country has done about 20.6 million Covid-19 tests ever-since the pandemic began.

“Thanks to the vision of our leadership, the UAE was a global example to follow in its response to the crisis. It dealt with the epidemic using a holistic approach, which contributed to limiting its spread and reducing its impact on all sectors of the state,” he said.
