09 June 2020

The Dubai Tourism Authority, in its latest heart-warming video message said “Every rising sun brings us closer to when we can see each other again.” This message has been doing rounds in the social networking sites.

The one-minute video, which was published on 8th June, shows the different strategies adopted by the Dubai government over the past three months, including the curfews, implementation of social distancing measures, and the sterilisation of roads, to contain the spread of COVID-19.

“We will welcome you with open doors. We will make your journey extraordinary. We said we needed a moment, and it will only be a moment more. We will see you soon,” the video by the Tourism Authority said. The video was viewed more than 280,000 times.

According to earlier reports, Dubai may begin reopening to tourists by July. However, during the recent interview with Bloomberg TV, Helal Al Marri, Director General of Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai, said that the process will be gradual and may even be delayed until September, based on restrictions across the world.

With several countries still remaining closed, it is more about the bilateral discussion, Al Marri pointed out.
