Liam Payne, Rita Ora and Little Mix are coming to Dubai for a pop extravaganza on March 23.
The UK acts will take over the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre for an event called The Assembly: a Global Teacher Prize concert, launched by The Varkey Foundation. The concert aims to celebrate the essential work of teachers. It is ticketed and open to the public.

The concert celebrates the incredible work by teachers around the world. The festival-style concert, hosted by Virgin Radio's Kris Fade and featuring a supporting set by DJ Jacques Lavoisier, will see the stars performing many of their greatest hits.

The musicians will also be joined on stage by the top 10 finalists of the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize, where the spotlight will turn to the teachers.

Their inspirational stories will be shared with a live audience at the event, for which Time Out Dubai is a media partner along with Virgin Radio Dubai 104.4.

The US$1 million (Dhs3.67 million) Global Teacher Prize, to be announced at a ceremony the following evening, was set up to recognise one exceptional teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession.

It also shines a spotlight on the important role teachers play in society and celebrates their unsung work. By unearthing thousands of stories of heroes that have transformed young people’s lives, the prize hopes to bring to life the exceptional work of teachers all over the world.

Little Mix: Black Magic singers Little Mix are yet to perform to an arena crowd in the UAE, but members of the band have made personal appearances at now-closed nightclub Mahiki in the past. The British band is made up of members Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock. Expect the X Factor-formed band to perform hits like Hair, Woman Like Me and Shout Out to My Ex.

Liam Payne: This won't be the first time Cheryl Tweedy's ex, Liam Payne, has performed in the UAE. The 25-year-old was in Dubai in March last year, performing at Global Village in a Dh10-entry concert at the park. It's unlikely that the former One Direction singer will perform any of the band's hits, but you can expect him to sing solo songs, including Bedroom Floor, Strip That Down and Slow.

Rita Ora: Fifty Shades actress and singer, Rita Ora, is a UAE regular, having performed at Base, Sandance and RedFestDxb in the past.

Perhaps we can hope for Ora and Payne to team up on stage to perform their duet, For You.

What Else?

Recently, The Greatest Showman star Loren Allred has also been announced to join the bill.
....Loren Allred, the Pittsburgh-born singer, songwriter, whose chart debut ‘Never Enough’ featured on the multi-platinum soundtrack to The Greatest Showman, will be joining a host of musicians at ‘The Assembly: A Global Teacher Prize Concert’ in Dubai later this month.

Allred will be sharing the bill with Little Mix, Rita Ora and Liam Payne at theDubai Media City Amphitheatre on Saturday 23 March. During her performance Allred will sing both ‘Never Enough’ and ‘This is Me’ from The Greatest Showman soundtrack.

Book your tickets now – this is going to be a hugely popular mega-gig.
