With the new platinum service launched by the British Embassy, now, you can apply for UK visas from the comfort of your home or office, and the officials will arrive at your doorstep to complete the formalities.
This ‘on demand’ service, launched by the British Embassy, at a cost of Dh.4500 per head, can be used for all types of visas, including the long-term UK visas.
To avail the service, you just need to drop an email to [email protected] and the officials will reach your chosen location on time to complete the formalities, including filling the application form, biometric enrolment, and other formalities.
The service will be delivered in three to five days without the applicant having to visit the visa centre event once. Further, on expediting this process, visas can be obtained within 24 hours of filling up the application, with additional payment of Dh.2600. The standard six-month multiple-entry visit visa costs about Dh.450.
The service is first of its kind in the world to be offered by the UK and is offered considering the needs of the UAE market. The platinum lounge has been introduced after a lot of research, said Paul Fox, the British Consul General in Dubai.
The platinum lounge will offer an exclusive experience, offers privacy and comfort, and the entire process is taken care of, from personalized chauffeur service to and from the visa centre to any location in the UAE. Apart from completing all necessary formalities, it comes with free Wifi and drinks and snacks during the time taken for completion of process of application.
The Embassy introduced Electronic Visa Waiver service in 2014, which proved to be highly successful, and this new visa services being offered to Emiratis and UAE residents are also likely to see success, said Fox.
All UAE passport holders can obtain Electronic Visa Waiver online, 48 hours prior to travelling to the UK for a six-month single entry visit. In the year 2015, about 9300 visas were issued for nationals from the visa centre in Dubai, while a total of 56,000 applications were received by the centre from people of various nationalities. The visa issuance rate for Emiratis is about 97 percent.
