Four-day holiday break for UAE private sector

The Labour Ministry in the UAE has announced 2nd and 3rd December 2015 as holidays for the private sector on the occasion of ‘Martyrs’ day’ and ‘National Day’. On including the weekend, this makes it a four-day holiday break for the private sector.

For employees of ministries and federal government departments The National Day and Martyrs' Day holidays will begin on 1st December, Tuesday, with work resuming on 6th December, Sunday, as per circular issued by Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

The authority extended its greetings to the President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces, their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of Emirates and people of the UAE.

However, all ministries and federal authorities will be closed for Martyrs’ Day on 1st December.

The schools in Dubai will also be closed from 1st December to 3rd December to mark Martyrs’ Day and National Day, announced an official at the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
