Parks in Dubai

Dubai is home to beautiful parks and beaches with all required amenities for leisure and recreation. The green parks are a welcome relief for visitors from the desert heat, and they add beauty to the environment. All parks in Dubai are managed by the Public Parks and Horticulture Department of Dubai Municipality.

The entry fees to public parks are usually cheap, ranging from Dh.2 to Dh.5 a person or Dh.10 per car, for those allowing entry of vehicles.

However, if the management of public parks are handed over to private companies, there may be increase in admission fee. However, Public parks in Dubai are still operated by Dubai Municipality and there is not much change in entry fee charged.

Some of the parks in Dubai are operated by Nakheel rather than Dubai Municipality. But, not all of the public parks operated by Nakheel are open to public. Some are open only for residents of the relevant Nakheel developments. Few of the parks operated by Nakheel are the Ittihad Park, Jumeirah Heights Development Park, and the Jumeirah Village Circle with 13 parks.

In parks that offer Barbecue (BBQ) areas, with cooking facilities, you may have to carry along with you wood, charcoal and matches. However, cooking of pork items is not permitted.

Drinking alcohol or smoking is not permitted in public parks and restaurants / cafes in parks do not sell alcohol. Public parks in Dubai are generally safe to walk around even in late evenings. Cases of rape, murder or mugging are very rare.
