Warner Bros Theme Park to be a Feather on the Cap for Abu Dhabi

The proposed arrival of Warner Bros, the Hollywood entertainment giant, with a theme park in Abu Dhabi, is sure to position Abu Dhabi as a world-class place that has it all and in time, tourist arrivals in the UAE are expected to witness strong growth, say market Analyst.

According to Analysts, this will be another feather in the cap for Abu Dhabi, after the announcement of Formula One, setting up of museum and industrial zones from France, arrival of top world-class universities, and other things that tourists would love to watch.

Recently, the real estate developer, Aldar Properties PJSC, the largest company by capitalization in UAE, and Warner Bros, the US-based Abu Dhabi Media Company, entered into a long-term strategic alliance in New York and Abu Dhabi's digital transformation.

"Abu Dhabi will soon be on par with Dubai, and turn out to be an attractive place for professionals with all goodies available in one place. This will give a solid boost to Abu Dhabi real estate projects, and particularly, in Abu Dhabi," say another Analyst.

Aldar, Abu Dhabi Media and Warner Bros, together in their joint statement mentioned that the alliance covers creation of the theme park, jointly owned multiplex cinemas and a hotel, and formation of a joint venture to finance films, to develop and publish video games, and heralding the growth of new media in the capital.

Aldar has been assigned the task to supervise and co-ordinate physical construction of both hotel and the theme park. The Groundbreaking for the theme park and the hotel has been scheduled in 2009.

Warner Bros will develop, design and jointly manage the multiplex cinemas in Abu Dhabi that are built by Aldar. Initially it has been planned to open just four cinemas in Al Ain, Al Ruwais, Central Market of Abu Dhabi and Yas Island, which will be themed featuring titles and characters from the contemporary and classic film libraries of Warner Bros. The groundbreaking of multiplex cinemas is expected during early 2010.
