Emirates Identity Card processing, now cheaper and easier

The Emirates Identity Card processing will now be easier and cheaper with Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA), launching new e-registration forms for all residents.

A similar form was also launched for nationals last month. The online registration service will permit applicants to fill the form at home, set up an appointment and then complete the registration process.

E-registration charges will be Dh.40, as against Dh.70 at typing centres, with all other charges remaining the same. The fee can be paid using credit cards on opening an account on EIDA website, and following the simple procedures mentioned therein.

Residents are free to renew, or apply for replacement of lost/destroyed cards online. The service enables filling up of maximum 20 forms a day. This is available under the category of e-services, online forms, on the EIDA website www.eida.gov.ae.
