Ministries, EIDA, to be linked by second half of 2012
Various Ministries and local authorities will be linked with Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) towards second half of 2012, to provide a fool-proof system.
The database of Emirates ID of a person will be linked with other Ministries through the Integration Platform Project. Any change in the database of a person of any of the six ministries, and other private sectors, will be reflected in the records of other Ministries too, explained Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Director General of EIDA at Emirates Smart Card Factory in Abu Dhabi.
Once a change is noticed, other public and private sectors will be notified through the integration system. To begin with, the Ministry of Health, Labour, Interior, Higher Education, Justice and some other local authorities will be linked. The infrastructure for the project will be ready towards second half of 2012, Dr. Al Khouri said.
The project will first update the population register in the UAE. Any change in the profile of the person will be reflected in the population register, he said. Dr. Al Khoury further said that there is another option for locals to register them at the time of birth. This will be beginning 1st January for nationals, but will later be made mandatory for all.
