McDonald’s is arguably the most well-known fast food chain in World and has made its presence felt in UAE as well.

The first McDonald’s hamburger restaurant in the UAE was opened on 21st December 1994 in Al Ghurair City by Emirates Fast Food Company.The second McDonald’s restaurant was opened in Deira City Centre in 1995, followed by the third one by Union Cool on Al Wasl Road in 1996. Since then, McDonald's UAE has been active in its community and is considered the leader in the quick service restaurants across the region.

In UAE , McDonald's already have 128 stores operating till January 2015. over the last 20 years, there has been continuous growth, except for the crash during 2008 and 2009. In recent years the stores have seen growth from 5 to 10 per cent each year. Each branch has over 1,500 transactions daily. Fakih, the managing director and partner at McDonald’s Emirates said there will be 15 to 17 McDonald’s in the UAE launched this year.

Most of the large shopping malls and food courts in Dubai have a McDonald’s restaurant, with Mall of Emirates housing two of them. The McDonald’s at most food courts share seating with other food court restaurants. Parking is free at the malls. You will also see McDonald's restaurants at petrol/gas stations in Dubai that also have free car parking. Many have a drive-through take away.

McDonald's can also be found at the Dubai International Airport in departure terminals, following baggage check and passport control. The McDonald's at Dubai Airport is open 24 hours, but there is no breakfast service at this location. Also, expect to pay slightly higher prices in the airport than elsewhere in Dubai
