06 September 2016

Leading global developer, Emaar Properties, announced that ‘Emaar South’, its latest mega development in Dubai South would be one of the most sought-after destinations in future.

Emaar, in its media statement, mentioned that its new project is just minutes from Al Maktoum International Airport, and is in easy proximity to the Expo 2020 Dubai site.

The Emaar South mega development, which spans 7sq kms, also includes a dedicated golf district, and is one of the vital components of the newly planned city, the developer said.

Further, with the 145sqkms Airport City quickly taking shape, Emaar said that the demand for residences in Dubai South will surge, and it will be met by the new Emaar South development.

Emaar South is expected to draw at least 25 million visitors during Expo 2020 Dubai, and is considered as a magnet for millions of travellers who fly by Al Maktoum International Airport.

The airport is likely to welcome about 220 million passengers annually, making it the world’s largest airport on completion. The current expansion will expand the capacity of the airport to 26.5million travellers annually by the year 2017.

Emaar South is a well-planned project in Dubai South, a purpose-built integrated urban city destination, serving as a vibrant new economic platform on aviation and logistic services.

The Chairman of Emaar Properties, Mohamed Abbar, said that the city supports the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, positioning Dubai as a smart, integrated and connected city, with a wide range of residential choices that caters to needs of one and all.

He said that the opportunities created by Dubai South would be further complemented with new golf course district. With Emaar South, the developer offers another smart and sustainable world-class integrated community that generates long-term economic value.

Best in-class designers, architects and consultants have been assigned for the new residential city, he said.

The Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, Khalifa Al Zaffin expressed happiness in partnering with Emaar, the region’s largest developer.

“This association reflects our commitment to establish Dubai South as a premier destination to live, work and invest. It will be fully integrated master planned city to offer life solutions for its residents and set a new standard in urban living,” he added.

Emaar South features more than 15,000 residences in a mix of tiered town houses, villas and apartments. It is a smart neighbourhood, housing thousands of people, creating several hundreds of new jobs in hospitality, retail and leisure sectors.

Emaar South will feature six districts, all interlinked through tree-lined boulevards, walking and bicycle trails, and well-linked public transport network, including autonomous vehicles for clean transport. It also features six districts, anchored by 18-hole championship golf course and clubhouse, and several large community parks, 3 and 4 star hotels, dedicated retail precincts, all assuring of contemporary guest experiences and several fascinating outdoor pursuits.

Other amenities that are incorporated in the master-plan are K-12 educational institutions by premier provider and a golf villa recreational centre.

This year’s Cityscape Global 2016 will display a model of Emaar South at Emaar’s pavilion, which marks its first public preview. The development would be developed in four phases, with the first phase likely to include tiered town-homes, townhouses and apartments and retail precincts. The first homes in Emaar South would be announced shortly, opening the opportunity for investors to be part of this world-class development.
