Etihad has announced Visa-on-Arrival for Indians, provided, they have a US visitor visa or a Green Card. The passport of the traveller should also have at least six months of validity.
It will cost about Dh.100 for a visa, with validity for a maximum of 14 days. This visa can be extended by another 14 days by paying a renewal fee of Dh.250.
These new visa guidelines as per decision approved by the UAE Cabinet are aimed at holidaymakers and those who happen to have families based in the country.
Indian passports are more powerful in their own right. All Indian passport holders can travel visa-free to 52 out of 199 countries. A Nomad Capitalist study ranks the Indian passport at 160. Now, the new announcement of visa-on-arrival only adds to the strength of already strong Indian passport.
The decision is a welcoming step aimed at boosting tourism and trade ties between the two countries. The UAE is one of the greatest tourist destinations for Indians, and this move will further improve tourist arrivals into the UAE. India is also the second largest partner of the UAE, and the trade between the two countries, will further boost bilateral ties between the two countries.
The number of Indian tourists visiting the UAE touched 1.6million last year, and about 50,000 UAE tourists have visited India during the same year.
