Dubai launches region's first of its kind Dh.5.5bn Food Park

Dubai will soon have a multi-billion dirham facility dedicated to the food industry, which is expected to generate thousands of jobs. The mega facility, named ‘Food Park’, will serve as a one-stop hub for anything related to the food sector.

The UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, launched the mega project, the Dh.5.5bn Food Park development in Dubai Wholesale City, which is a trading hub spanning more than 550mn square feet.

This food complex is the first-of-its-kind in the region and aims to promote the competitiveness of Dubai as a regional head in the food sector. 

The statement by the Dubai Media Office read that the modern, integrated Food Park offers all food-related services under a single roof.

When fully functional, the giant facility would span 48mn square feet of space, and serve as a one-stop hub for all services associated with food sector, including storage, food repackaging, trading and processing. 

The services that would be carried out at the facility include food inspection, financing, customs among others.
