Ever heard of a police station at sea? Well, it is actually here in Dubai!
What is more, the visitors to Expo 2020 will get the opportunity to see the prototype of the ‘Flotating Smart Police Station’ model closely and personally.
The smart police station is basically for people living out of mainland such as The World Islands, a Dubai Police representative at Fazaa Pavilion said, where this prototype is being showcase in-line with the UAE Innovation week.
The floating stations will provide innovative, unmanned e-police services to residents and remain functional in the mega man-made island. The station will cater to yacht owners and boat owners and water sport lovers.
To access these stations, the Island residents will have to use their boats and avail criminal traffic and community services such as paying fines and reporting crimes, without the presence of any police officers.
The centre will stay in touch with the headquarters, provide services 24/7, and will provide public safety through smart technology, and help educate the community about protecting marine life.
The floating police station is a three-storey building with two of its floors above water and one underwater, resembling floating sea horse villas, but uses smart technologies.
While the first level will be equipped with instruments facilitating services for the user, the upper deck will be for a surveillance drone. The underwater deck will have the mechanical belly that helps the station in functioning and staying afloat.
Dubai Police has more than 15 integrated interactive self-service police stations throughout the city, out of which four are at the Expo 2020. These smart stations remain open 24/7 and offers smart services without human intervention in seven languages: English, Arabic, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese.
