Global Village Dubai ends 26th Season with record-breaking visitor numbers

Global Village, Dubai’s leading multicultural family destination, concluded its 26th Season on 7th May. This year, the attraction welcomed over 7.8 million visitors, in its longest season ever, which opened doors on 26th October 2021.

Due to popular demand, the park extended its Season 26, allowing guests to enjoy Eid Al Fitr festivities for the first time in time in history. The Village remained open for a total of 194 days, which is four days more than its previous record, making it one of its longest seasons ever.

“This year, 60 percent of our partners were new to Global Village, which keeps our offering fresh and our guests coming back season after season,” commented Bader Anwahi, Chief Executive Officer at Global Village.

Inline with Global Village’s commitment to cashless payment, more than 94percent outlets accepted card payments this season. Guests welcomed added convenience with contactless payments seeing 300 percent growth during Season 26.

The park aims to achieve 100 percent of outlets offering cashless payments in the forthcoming Season 27.

Global Village saw a whopping 700percent growth in online ticket sale. The park introduced several new features this year in its user-friendly mobile app that helped guests cut long queues and grab exclusive offers so as to make the most out of their visit.

There were several new shows, and the main stage saw more than 10 new Global Village products. There were also several popular international shows including Swing Latino, Burn the Floor and Aainja.

The Concert series at the Global Village Season 26 saw a line-up of spectacular live concerts by several international artists including Tamer Hosni, Assala Nasri, Anne Marie and Saad Lamjarred.

The first water-based stunt show in the region, ‘Harbour Force’, drew crowds with its 75ft tall dive tower, double fly-board action, jet-ski fire-jump and LED cars. There were more than 170 electrifying rides, attractions and games at the Carnaval, this season.

‘Ripley’s Believe It or Not’ introduced 100 new exhibits, and a Chamber of Horror. While the 4D Moving Theatre kept one and all hooked to their seats, the Marvellous Mirror Maze featured more than 100 mirrors, digital sound upgraded with immersive water, LED lighting and Augmented Reality features.

The Village saw thousands of guests over National Day weekend, as the UAE celebrated its Golden Jubilee. Festivities continues till December with holiday shopping, and included treats from across the world. There were New Year Eve celebrations that continued past midnight with musical fireworks and cultural performances.

In the month of February, the park also celebrated the Chinese New Year, wishing health, luck and prosperity for the Year of the Tiger. This season also included the renowned “Kids Fest” and “Happiness Street Fest”.

Season 26 of Global Village was extended to include the finest traditions of Ramadan into Global Village, as Majlis of the World offered one-of-a-kind experience with a vibrant atmosphere for gatherings with friends and family. There was a special line-up of events, shows, and décor for Eid Al Fitr, making it the perfect place to celebrate with loved ones.

Global Village is likely to return on 25th October 2022 with a host of new experiences.
