10-year cultural visas may be issued to 5000 creatives in Dubai

03 April 2022

The Chairwoman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed, noted that Dubai has issued 10-year cultural visas to 5000 creatives, as per reports by the Dubai Media Office (DMO).

Sheikha Latifa was speaking on the second day of the World Government Summit at the Expo 2020 site.

In the year 2019, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum had approved world’s first long-term cultural visa for local and international talent.

I am happy to say today that 5000 creatives in Dubai hold that visa now. Turning Dubai into the next global creative metropolis is not just a dream,” Sheikha Latifa said, hoping that Dubai will grow to be a global centre of culture and creativity.

“Dubai has already cemented itself as a leader in the region. Creators can now go online and obtain a creative license in seven minutes,” Sheikha Latifa said, adding that one of the first and most vital measures in creating a cultural and creative spirit is to facilitate the work of people involved in this sector in Dubai.
