As per the latest rules, visitors to Dubai’s World expo will have to submit their Covid-19 vaccination certificates or will have to test themselves negative for Covid19 before entering the event, as against the earlier rule that did not require inoculations.
The announcement was made last week by the Expo 2020 officials, following days after saying that even unvaccinated or untested people could attend the expo.
This move seems to be an indicator on how such major global events would be run in the coming months.
The expo is one of the world’s biggest in-person events ever-since the coronavirus pandemic began and it is expected to turn 25 million people over six months. It begins on 1st October after a year-long delay.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi has abolished the need for visitors coming from other parts of the UAE to show a negative Covid-19 test. This move got effective after the rate of coronavirus infection in Abu Dhabi fell to 0.2 percent of total tests.
