The UAE has begun issuing entry permits (except work permits) from today, the 24th September, the authorities have announced.
According to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC), the issuing of visas is aimed at easing restrictions and at strengthening ties in support of the economic recovery plans of the country.
This is being done together with enabling the work system on the basis of striking a balance between implementing the Covid-19 precautionary measure on one hand, and the arrival of tourists and resuming economic activities and other developmental activities on the other.
The authority pointed out that the decision comes as a response to the latest data represented in the precautionary measures package and the travel mechanisms adopted by the travel sector, and the manner in which several practices meant to combat the virus are being applied.
The FAIC had suspended all visas to foreigners (except diplomatic passport holders) as a precautionary measure in its battle to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
