Dubai residents who have been so far stranded outside the UAE for more than six months, but hold a valid residency visa, can now return to the country, announced an official at the GDRFA (General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs).
The Director of the Amer Department, Maj. Salim bin Ali, said that for the happiness of customers at GDRFA in Dubai, the residents who have been stuck outside the country for over six months due to the outbreak of Covid-19 can enter the country without any issues.
“Residents with valid residency in the system can enter the country without a problem if the air space between the UAE and the country they are staying is open,” said Maj. Bin Ali, further adding that sometimes applications for entry approvals may be rejected if the system is closed or if the visa is cancelled.
In such cases, if the approval is rejected, or if your residency is blocked, contact the GDRFA call centre, and the case will be investigated and any other issues may be addressed. If the return approval has been granted, you may re-enter the country normally, he noted.
