Emirates Airline will cover its passengers for COVID-19 related medical and quarantine expenses if they choose to travel on the airline to and from the UAE and across the world.
Customers are allowed to claim medical expenses up to EURO150,000 (Dh.638,655) and quarantine expenses of EURO100 per day (Dh.426) for 14 days in case they have tested Covid-19 positive during their travel, while they are away from home, said a Dubai Media Office statement.
This cover is offered irrespective of the class of travel or the destination. It will get effective immediately for customers flying on Emirates until 30th October. It has a 31-day validity from their first sector of journey.
To avail this offer, customers do not have to fill in or register forms prior to travel, and they are not obligated to use this cover provided by Emirates.
“Under the directive of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Emirates is proud to lead the way in boosting confidence for international travel. We know people are yearning to fly as borders around the world gradually reopen, but they are seeking flexibility and assurances, should something unforeseen happen during their travel,” said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emirates Group Chairman and Chief Executive.
“We are now taking it to the next level by being the first in the industry to offer our customers free global cover for COVID-19 medical expenses and quarantine costs should they incur these costs during their travel,” he further said.
