The Dubai Shopping Festival will kick-in early this year, so that residents can make the most of the school holidays, its organizers said.
The DSF 2021 will begin from 17th December 2020 and will conclude on 30th January 2021.
The annual calendar released by the Ministry of Education last month indicates that students will have their winter break from 13th December to 31st December 2020.
The Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) said that the six-week festival will offer family fun and entertainment, unique markets, live concerts, art installations and stage shows, apart from super sales, promotions, and opportunity to win life-changing prizes.
Each participant in the mall and event venues will have to follow the health and safety standards that are in-line with local regulations, intended to keep shoppers safe from the spread of Covid-19.
Shopping destinations across the city now operate at 100 percent capacity. The shopping malls and centres have implemented strict checks and are required by law to carry out strict sanitization procedures frequently.
This 26th edition of the festival will also feature concerts by world-renowned music stars, entertainment in malls, light and firework shows and activations by huge retail brands. Further, one can hope for the ‘extra special’ celebrations on New Year’s Eve and into 2021, the DFRE said.
Given, the mega raffles, shoppers now have opportunities to bag luxury cars and cash prizes. More ‘big announcements’ are likely to appear in the coming weeks.
Last year, the DSF was held from 26th December 2019 to 1st February 2020.
In the month of July, DFRE had announced that the Global Village will return this year for its silver jubilee celebrations on 25th October. The authorities have promised to provide the best park experience to its guests, despite the challenges arising out of Covid-19 pandemic.
