The Dubai Government has just released a series of new protocols governing reopening of private schools in Dubai, giving top priority to the health and safety of students and staff.
The protocols govern the reopening of schools in the new academic year, and includes specific criteria pertaining to school buses and physical distancing among others.
The CEO of Permits and Compliance Sector at KHDA, Mohammed Darwish said “The protocols are in place to make sure there’s a consistent and effective approach to keeping everyone at school safe and healthy once schools reopen next academic year. We understand that each school is different – the protocols give each school a starting point to think about what works best for their community and the context of their school.”
The protocols cover different aspects of school operations including:
- Entry, pick-up and school visit procedures
- Physical distancing arrangements
- Screening and contact tracing
- School buses and transportation
KHDA will be working closely with school leaders in the summer to ensure that they have complete information and support required to cope with new ways of operating. It is the responsibility of all to keep students, teachers and school staff safe when schools reopen, and it is necessary to work together to ensure that the experience is safe and happy for all concerned, Darwish added.
