Dubai extends a warm welcome to tourists as it reopens doors for them

07 July 2020

Tourists and visitors arriving in Dubai received a warm welcome today, as after a three-month break, Dubai begins to welcome tourists from today. Since 24th March, the Dubai authorities had closed the travel-hub for tourists as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of Covid-19.

As global tourists return to the world’s shopping paradise, the emirate’s iconic landmarks, hotels, glitzy malls, amusement parks and leisure spots, visitors are made to feel at home and safe.

Tourists and visitors arriving in Dubai will receive a special stamp that reads ‘A warm welcome to your second home’.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) has implemented high safety standards at all Dubai airports, the Dubai Media Office said.

The Dubai Tourism has assured visitors that comprehensive safety measures are in place across the city to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.

Being a popular destination among global travellers, the city welcomed over 12 million visitors last year as per official figures.

The Dubai airlines have resumed flights to select destinations. While Emirates is now operating to 51 destinations, Flydubai is operating flights to 17 cities.

All tourists are required to take a PCR test within 96 hours prior to their flight and should carry a Covid-19 negative test certificate while travelling. This is applicable to all passengers including children.
