The government has introduced several measures to ensure that everyone is primarily limiting social contacts and avoiding crowded places to ensure safety and wellbeing of all.
The public have been urged to use their own family cars with a maximum of three individuals per vehicle. They have been advised not to visit public places and maintain social distancing protocols.
In order to get the ‘stay home’ message out to the general public, the Dubai authorities and the UAE are using several methods.
The Ministry of Interior and National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority made their strongest plea regarding Covid-19 asking all residents, nationals and visitors in the UAE to remain indoors.
However, you can venture out for groceries, medicines, to perform essential jobs and in case of emergency.
One unique and popular method is when you pick up the phone to make a call, you can notice a new message every morning. Also, when placing an outgoing call in Dubai, the Du and Virgin users have been greeted by a recorded message that says “Dear caller, staying at home keeps you and your loved ones safe from Covid-19”.
The message is first relayed in Arabic, followed by the English version. This is one of the several new ways that the authorities in Dubai and UAE are implementing to get people to stay at home aiming to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
