Vaccinations

Anyone travelling out of the UAE should ensure that they have all necessary vaccinations, including Covid-19 vaccine. Vaccinations need to be administered at least one month in advance to ensure that they are effective.

“In terms of the Covid-19 vaccine, people who intend to travel should first seek their healthcare provider’s advice so that they can assess their medical condition, allergies if any, pre-existing health conditions and accordingly seek advice with regard to the vaccine,” Dr. Al Dallal said.

The Sinopharm vaccine by China is now ready for use in the UAE. Here’s the details of where you could get vaccinated in the UAE https://www.guide2dubai.com/news/latest-news/2020/list-of-covid-19-vaccination-centres-open-to-public-in-the-uae.

Travel Advice

It is best to keep yourself updated about the Covid-19 travel requirements in your destination and in the UAE.

Prior to travel, depending on the needs of your travel destination, you may have to take the Covid-19 test. This should be correctly timed so as to be valid at the time of travel.

All precautionary measures such as wearing a mask, frequently washing or sanitizing the hands, and maintaining social distancing need to be followed.

For a pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test, the price at SEHA centres has now dropped to Dh.85 in the UAE.

Further, there are other mandatory vaccines for certain destinations such as yellow fever vaccine when visiting African and South American countries.

As the vaccination requirements can vary from one country to another, and some of them require a second dose for effectiveness, it is important to plan these at least one month ahead of travel. Often, travellers require more than one vaccine, so it is better to plan ahead.
