3-day virus disinfection programme keep Dubai residents indoors

27 March 2020

As the nationwide disinfection project to prevent spread of coronavirus continues with full zoom, the UAE asked all its residents to stay indoors for three full days.

The otherwise bustling Dubai streets wore a deserted look on Thursday night, as the authorities imposed a curfew from 8pm to 6am for three-day disinfection programme from Thursday to Sunday, in order to fight the spread of the virus.

The UAE urged all people to remain indoors while the nationwide disinfection scheme was being carried out. The traffic restrictions are on from 8pm to 6am Thursday to Sunday for public transport, including taxis on specific routes to hospitals.

Dubai has already taken several stringent measures including closure of malls, and halting all passenger flights.

The UAE has 333 confirmed cases, and two people have lost lives, while 52 have recovered.
