UAE Ministry, Authority, announces Ramadan working hours

The working hours for employees at various Ministries and other Federal Authorities would be from 9am to 2pm during the fasting month of Ramadan, beginning first week of June.

A circular to this effect has been issued by the Federal Authority for Gover nment Human Resources (FAGHR). The circular sets the work hour for ministries and federal offices in UAE during the Ramadan month, in line with a decision by Federal Cabinet.

The Circular No.17 for the year 2016 states that the official work of the ministries and federal agencies during the Ramadan month starts at 9am and ends at 2pm.

This is as per the Cabinet decision No.13 for the year 2012 on implementing regulations of the Federal Law by Decree No.11 for the year 2008 on human resources in the Federal Government, as amended, and the text of the second paragraph of Article No.100 of the regulation.

The Authority congratulated the UAE President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of Armed Forces and their Highnesses Members of Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates. The Authority also congratulated people of UAE and Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion.

However, the Labour Ministry is yet to issue a circular about timing for private sectors.
