Play: White Rabbit Red Rabbit

In association with DSS, The Junction presents White Rabbit Red Rabbit on Thursday 13 August 2020.

This is written by playwright Nassim Soleimanpour- White Rabbit Red Rabbit is a fascinating take on theatre that is equal parts moving and haunting as it is surprising. The New York Times described the play as “astonishingly original” and “a playful, enigmatic and haunting show.

Unable to leave his homeland, Soleimanpour devised a clever vehicle – this script – to explore the world. The manuscript arrives in Dubai in a sealed envelope where the actor will encounter it on stage for the first time, taking the audience on a journey to which no one knows the ending, not even the performer. Anything can happen during this show, which requires neither a director nor rehearsal.

Since its premiere in 2011, White Rabbit Red Rabbit has been translated into more than 25 different languages and has been performed over 1000 times all over the world.

See Dubai-based artists take on this challenge when Mohamed El Sawi performs in Arabic on 13 August, followed by performances in English by Asad Raza Khan on 14 August and Malavika Varadan on 15 August.
