Dubai-based production house Xpression Art is following up last year’s successful run of Yaar Julahe with its second, highly anticipated full-length play, Sankraman.
Written by renowned Indian playwright Kamtanath, Sankraman means ‘transition’ in Hindi and this heartfelt story explores the universal and deeply complex relationship between parent and child.
The tale unfolds in a joint family setting, exploring connections in the form of three monologues by a father, a son and the mother. They each narrate their lives together, exploring the idiosyncrasies and similarities that are not always noticeable on the surface.
Sankraman is directed by theatre enthusiast Sabiha Majgaonkar, who has credits in over 40 productions as an actor and director.
