Dial M For Murder at Dubai Opera

The genre-defining thriller play 'Dial M for Murder’ will be held at Dubai Opera on Wednesday 8 to Saturday 11 April 2020.

Frederick Knott’s 1952 play Dial M for Murder set the tone for the stage thrillers to come.

Audiences relished the gripping atmosphere and the inevitable cat-and-mouse game played by the detective as he reeled in the killer.Tony Wendice, played by celebrated stage and television actor Tom Chambers, is a former professional tennis player who gave everything up for his wife Margot. When he discovers Margot’s unfaithfulness, he is consumed by a need for revenge and orchestrating the perfect crime.

The second act picks up the pace and is much more rewarding. This is, in large part, due to the arrival of Christopher Harper’s nicely observed Inspector Hubbard, who runs circles around the overly confident killer. It’s clear to see the why Hitchcock was drawn to the play for his expanded 1954 movie version.
