Still striving to start that health kick for 2020? There’s a new run that might inspire you to pull those trainers on.
The second edition of Dubai Canal Run takes place on 28th February.
Whilst taking in the breath-taking views across the canal, families can enjoy a fun day out by participating in the 1k, 5k or 10k routes.
Open to beginners and advanced athletes alike, this activity offers a 1km route perfect for little ones along with 3km and 5km distances. If you're looking for a bigger challenge, opt for the 10km race and explore the area by foot.
Oman Insurance and Bupa Global have partnered with athletics events organisers Race.ME to organise the race, which aims to help runners have fun and build healthier habits.
The 3.2km waterway which runs to the Arabian Gulf from the Creek in Old Dubai is a significant addition to Dubai’s tourist attractions. To encourage people to run, the canal also boasts a running track and cycling path, providing the amenities required for fitness lovers in Dubai. As the first official run at this location, it provides participants the chance to take in the beautiful scenery and embrace the series of architectural delights along the route.
Entry fees start from AED 50 for the one-kilometre kids’ race, AED 150 for the five-kilometre beginners’ course and AED 150 for the 10km challenge. For that you’ll get a race pack and parents who take part in one of the longer race can join their little ones in the children’s run for free.
