Are you ready to take on the second edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge?

Following the huge success of the inaugural challenge in 2017, launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, which heralded a new beginning in fitness across the city. In total, last year residents clocked up 2.5 billion moves in just 30 days.

Upping the ante on last year's total engagement numbers, which saw 800,000 people took part in last year’s campaign, the DFC 2018 is on a mission to get more than one million people on board this year. His Highness issued the challenge with motivating posts on his Snapchat and Instagram accounts, encouraging everyone to join the 2018 challenge to help achieve the target of 1 million participants in 2018.

In its second year, the Dubai Fitness Challenge — or Dubai 30x30 — is geared towards making the city the most active in the world and aimed at improving the health and fitness of its residents. The challenge extends to residents of all ages and abilities, governments and businesses and begins on October 26, ending on November 24.

The action-packed DFC calendar will feature the Dubai Festival City Opening Weekend Carnival presented by DEWA in association with Dubai Festival City and the Burj Park Closing Weekend Carnival presented by Emirates NBD in association with EMAAR, complemented by five exciting and diverse themed fitness villages spread across the city for greater accessibility and convenience. The two-day "weekend carnival" at Dubai Festival City from 2pm on October 26, where more than 25 fitness classes, including yoga, spinning, dancing and basketball, will be held. The event promises to feature fitness celebrities and a dedicated area for children's activities.

This citywide programme encourages all of us to do one easy, simple thing: 30 minutes of exercise a day, for 30 days (30x30). Join in the fitness movement and do your part to transform Dubai into the most active city in the world, with a month-long calendar of exciting sports and fitness-related events.

Getting fitter has never been so easy or so much fun. From 26 October- 24 November you can take part in energizing Weekend Carnivals, explore dedicated 'Fitness Villages' and choose from more than 2,000 free classes, pop-up gym sessions, weekend fitness carnivals and community-led activities.

Participants are requested to register for the 2018 Dubai Fitness Challenge by downloading the Dubai Fitness App which has several new features for quick and easy tracking of progress, following friends and family as well as encouraging others by sharing details of fitness activities.
