The 15th Dubai Junior Chess Tournament 2018 will be held at Dubai Chess & Culture Club in Al Mamzar from 26th June ~ 4th July 2018 where some of the world’s youngest chess talents and prodigies engage in the cerebral pastime and vie for top spot. Open to under 14s from the UAE and overseas, young players will compete to take home the prestigious Sheikh Maktoum Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum Cup.
The Dubai Juniors Chess Tournament has become one of the most prestigious and strongest junior competitions in the world, consistently attracting many of the best 14-under players from different countries. The nine-round Swiss system tournament offers a total prize fund of US$10,000, with US$2,000, a gold medal and the Sheikh Maktoum Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum Cup going to the champion. The rest of the top 10 players will also receive cash prizes, along with the top UAE and Dubai players.
A must-attend event for the next generation of grand masters, the tournament is also part of the club’s program to organise high-level competitions for its students and UAE players in general. The club has hosted numerous top ranked competitions including the Asian Cities Championship and Credit Suisse Masters, and spawned some of the region’s best players including the first UAE chess world champion, Saeed Ahmed Saeed.

(US$25) for players with a standard rating 1,501-1999
AED184 (US$50) for players with a standard rating below 1,500
