More than ten years since its opening, Ski Dubai remains one of the most impressive and unusual attractions in the UAE. Strolling down the elegant hallways of Mall of the Emirates, crowds of shoppers freeze in their tracks and ogle into this unique winter wonderland, snapping photos.
Although it's intriguing to watch, Ski Dubai - and stepping into an intense minus 1°C - needs to be experienced firsthand. With equipment and lockers provided, it only takes moments to unload the shopping bags and escape the ordinary. The attraction isn't for skiers only: whether you're ready for racing or just want to enjoy the snow, there are a variety of packages available. The prices may be similar, but you will receive different services for your dirham. For snow fans who do not ski there is also an adjacent snow park with sled and toboggan runs, an ice body slide, a snowboard shooting gallery, Ski Dubai Penguin Encounter and an ice cave.
Ski Dubai also offers people a chance to work out, not by skiing. Participants will be able to trek up to the top of the slope – and back down again – and they’ll be doing it all in a bracing -4 degrees. If it looks easy, you can increase the complexity level by carrying a backpack with you, which will hold up to 10 kilograms of snow. Participants should be at least 16 years old to take part, and the first 200 participants will be offered the chance to do it for free. For your complete peace of mind, all the slopes are fully supervised by qualified ski patrol, so the entire family can enjoy the thrills of real skiing in total safety.
Admission: 30 Oct, 2,6,9,13, 16 Nov: 8-9am
