Market OTB is a platform where ideas can be shared, connections can be made and singular, bespoke products can be purchased. The grass roots-led initiative will start on January 24th and will run till February 2nd with a record number of vendors, from 4pm to 10pm on weekdays, and 10am to 10pm on weekends.
What sprang from a simple idea have now opened up endless opportunities for a group of local start-up entrepreneurs showcasing their fashionable collections and creative talents at Market Outside The Box.
In stalls set up just across the dancing fountains, beneath Dubai’s tallest tower and abuzz with music and entertainment for visitors of all ages, ambitious designers are attracting DSF shoppers to their unique trendy concepts.
Merchandise up for grabs from several local and regional retailers this year, that is not found in conventional retail venues, include hand-made jewellery, fashion for men, women, kids, and even pets, vintage accessories and home furniture with a twist.
This year’s crop of talented artists and business people will be shining a spotlight on the worlds of jewellery design and accessories, home decor and fashion. On hand will be live entertainment and stage performances for the whole family; children’s activities (including balloon bending, clowns, magicians and bedtime stories) and music concerts; as well as food trucks (The Shebi, Fit Truck and Saj2Go) and food from favourite local eateries (Wingsters, Rock & Rolls, Pinza, Culinary Boutique and Vida).
Shoppers may navigate their way around the stalls, kids can play on their scooters while others may try out nibbles at the colourful food trucks. Or just settle on bean bags and enjoy the carnival-like atmosphere.
