Paramount Hotel Dubai launches filmmaking competition

Paramount Hotel Dubai announces the return of the annual filmmaker competition to support local filmmakers.

Here’s an opportunity and platform for both amateur and professional filmmakers.

Aspiring participants are required to submit a three-ten-minute script following one of Paramount Hotel’s iconic brand pillars — California Cool, Sophisticated Mystery and Old Hollywood Glam. The winner will take home Paramount’s prestigious ‘Film of the Year’ award, as well as the equivalent of Dh30,000 in hotel facilities.

Harboring true Hollywood spirit, 15 of the winning scripts will get the chance to shoot at the movie-inspired locations of Paramount Hotel Dubai, or Paramount Hotel Midtown and will have their film premiered to the public in Paramount Hotel Dubai’s luxe screening room during a two-day film festival. While one team will win the cash prize, other awards will be up for grabs such as Director of the Year, Actor of the Year, Actress of the Year, DOP of the Year, and Writer of the Year. With influential industry professionals in attendance, the best films will also be screened at the closing gala, followed by an exciting awards ceremony.
